In the half-light you see differently, not worse.
Meaning
The Moon does not light anything up clearly; it tints everything. This card shows a time in which you cannot rely on your eyes, because feelings, memories and fears help shape what you perceive. That is not only a bad thing: in the half-light you see things that stay invisible by day, hunches, dreams and moods that tell you something true about yourself. But you also see ghosts that are not really there.
In everyday life you meet the Moon when you sense something but cannot put a name to it: an uneasy feeling about a person, doubts about a decision that seemed clear, a restlessness with no recognisable cause. It also shows phases in which old fears resurface, or situations in which someone is not playing with their cards on the table, perhaps you yourself. A lot of this is projection now. You read into others what remains unanswered within you.
The Moon invites you to walk slowly and to trust your intuition without mistaking it for proof. Ask yourself what you are really perceiving and what you are afraid of. Dreams and images that surface during this time are worth paying attention to. The path between the towers leads on, even if you cannot see where it ends. Whoever neither turns back nor runs off blindly in the moonlight arrives in the morning knowing more about themselves than any clear night could have taught them.
Advice: Go slowly and trust your instincts.
Reversed
Reversed, the fog lifts. Fears that have grown large shrink back to their normal size, a deception is exposed, a suspicion is cleared up or confirmed, and either way brings relief, because clarity is better than uncertainty. Perhaps you also realise that for a long time you have been seeing a situation through the filter of an old hurt.
The reversed card can, however, also mean that you are fighting the darkness, pushing dreams and feelings aside and fleeing into reason, even though something unconscious wants to be heard. Ask yourself whether the clarity is real or whether someone has just switched off the light. What comes up from the depths does not disappear because you do not look at it. It waits for the next moon.
Love and relationships
In love, the Moon stands for uncertainty and longing, for feelings that cannot be put into words, and for projection: in the other person you may be seeing more of what you wish for or fear than the person themselves. In a relationship it is worth putting unspoken fears on the table before they turn into mistrust. If you are single, the card invites you not to interpret an attraction straight away but to observe it. Not every strong mood is a sign. Some of it is just moonlight.
Work and money
At work, the Moon shows an unclear situation: information is missing or contradictory, other people’s intentions remain in the dark, a project has a dynamic you cannot see through. The card advises against making final decisions during this phase and suggests paying attention to your gut feeling without following it blindly. In money matters, be especially wary of offers that feel too good, and of decisions made out of fear. Check the facts as far as you can, and if you are unsure, get a second opinion.
As the card of the day
Today the Moon invites you to listen to your intuition without believing everything it whispers. Pay attention to your dreams and to moods that arrive without any visible cause. Make no big decisions today, and where things are unclear, ask rather than interpret. Whatever unsettles you can simply be seen for what it is today, for now.
The image
In the blue sky hangs a large yellow moon with a halo of rays, its disc showing a profile with closed eyes. Yellow drops fall from it. Below, two grey towers rise on the left and right, and between them a pale path winds from the water across a meadow to distant mountains. A reddish-brown dog and a yellowish wolf with bared teeth stand on either side of the path and howl up at the moon. A red crayfish crawls out of the pool onto land. The moon with closed eyes shows perception turned inwards, the dog and the wolf the tame and the wild in you, both of which start barking as soon as the view grows unclear. The crayfish stands for what surfaces from the depths when it is dark enough. The path carries on all the same.
